I am a 28 year old creative thinker, fantasist, workaholic and professional napper. It has been claimed I am the unluckiest man in England, and the bastardised love child of Robbie Williams, Mel Gibson, Steve McDonald from Coronation Street and Mr Bean.
I am also an English graduate and Journalism postgraduate with a love for film, football, popular culture, current affairs, writing, travelling, reading, beaches, the colour red and baked goods.
I started this to keep busy whilst I looked for full-time employment upon returning from a 1 year working 'holiday' in Australia. I am from Southampton but now live and work in London.
My dream is to one day break into the film (or TV) industry, as a writer or director, but frustratingly most of my educational experience has been theory based, and nowadays jobs are all about experience. Despite voluntary work, brief work experience with Empire and several applications for internships and full-time positions with the likes of BAFTA, the BBC, ITV and various entertainment charities I haven't been successful in achieving this, yet. I don't want to give up on my ambition just yet, and still set my sights high.
Technically this website is fairly amateur, I am more of a writer than a web designer, and have been waiting on a friend to upgrade this site for several months. I hope to give it a makeover soon. In the meantime I try to keep myself writing about the things I love (and hate), to keep me fresh.
I like to tweet a lot, although a lot of what I say is tongue-in-cheek. I can be very self depreciating and have a love of comedy, sci-fi, horror and drama. I briefly managaed a film review Twitter account which I disbanded after realising I had been beaten to it by more professional Twit(terer)s.
As well as weird and wonderful news and features I also have an interest in serious news, international affairs and politics and was producing a local documentary on unemployment before work commitments got in the way. When the editor has finished the latest interview (with John Denham MP) I will upload this.
I will try to update this as much as time allows. Feel free to get in contact via Twitter. I also write for Starburst magazine, which you can check out here: http://www.starburstmagazine.com/ I also wrote an article for Empire magazine but Helen O'Hara seems to have 'forgotten' all about it..
