Jonathan Anderson, Construction (Joined), 2011, oil on two joined birch panels, with unpainted structure, 65⅞ × 83¾ in.

The structural framing of a home is left unpainted, allowing the bare wooden panel on which the painting is made to stand in for the wooden figure within the painting. This work is constructed as a horizontal diptych, with the left and right panels of the painting joined where the left and right walls of the structure meet at the corner closest to the viewer.
